European University Viadrina invites prospective students to an open day and a taster course on campus

On Thursday, June 27, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) invites you to its Open Day. Between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., prospective students can gain an impression of studying at Viadrina and student life in Frankfurt (Oder) during lectures, library tours, campus walks and a residence hall tour. Staff and students will be on hand at information stands to answer any questions you may have.

Fair Intercultural Summer 2024 starts on June 1

The Fair Intercultural Summer (FIKS) combines the nationwide Fair Week with the Intercultural Week and has been an important part of the development of a diverse and sustainable culture in Frankfurt (Oder) for many years. This year's FIKS begins on Saturday, June 1 with a Fair Breakfast. The summer program then reaches its climax on 14 September with the "Festival of Diversity".

Town hall officially reopened

With 250 invited guests and under special protective conditions, the historic town hall of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) was reopened on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 after extensive renovation work. In the presence of Minister President Dr. Dietmar Woidke and Uwe Schüler, State Secretary in the Brandenburg Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning, as well as many guests involved in the construction, financing and further securing of the major project, architect Ralf Fleckenstein handed over a symbolic key to Lord Mayor René Wilke, who is now once again the landlord after more than four years of construction.

Declaration of love to Frankfurt (Oder) celebrates premiere

The Bürgerbühne at the Kleist Forum presents "An der Grenze zur guten Hoffnung" – In its last major production of the 2023/24 season, the Bürgerbühne at the Kleist Forum focuses on life in Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice: In "On the Border of Good Hope", people who have consciously chosen to live in the twin city tell why they absolutely want to stay here. The play developed by guest director Christiane Lehmann premieres on May 24 at the Studiobühne.

Pot market on June 1, 2024 on the grounds of the Gronenfelder Werkstätten

This year, the Oderland-Spree Protestant church district is inviting people to the 40th Topfmarkt on June 1, 2024 on the grounds of the Gronenfelder Werkstätten. Free places for a voluntary year in the twin city and in other European countries

Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice are once again pioneers in a European project: They are the first binational partners to take part in the French initiative for a "Voluntary European Year". From September 1, 2024, six young people from Frankfurt and Słubice aged between 18 and 26 will have the opportunity to spend a year gaining experience that can shape their lives in a special way.
