Applications open until April 7: This summer, a joint delegation from Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice will once again set off to represent the Hanseatic twin city at the most important Hanseatic meeting of modern times. Interested citizens from both cities are invited to join the travel group and become part of the Hanseatic togetherness in the middle of the historic old town of Gdansk.

On Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 8.30 p.m., people all over the world will symbolically switch off the lights for one hour. Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice are also taking part in this "Earth Hour". The lights on the buildings of the European University Viadrina and the Collegium Polonicum will be switched off.

With "Mephisto", Frankfurt's Kleist Forum is presenting a substantial theatrical version of Klaus Mann's novel of the same name on March 23 and 24. The guest performance by the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam tells the story of a German everyman who has to choose between career and ideals and succumbs to the fascination of evil. Half an hour before the performance begins, there will be an introduction to the play in the foyer with dramaturge Christopher Hanf.

Lecture as part of the Viadrina Mentoring – On Thursday, March 21, Claudia Müller, Managing Director of the Female Finance Forum, will speak on the topic: "Money makes the world go round: You, your money and your life decisions." The lecture and a subsequent panel discussion on structural discrimination and the financial freedom of women is part of this year's opening and closing event of the Viadrina Mentoring Program in the Senate Hall in the Viadrina main building in Frankfurt (Oder).

Dr. Olesia Lazarenko from the Ukrainian Lectureship at the Viadrina Language Center is offering the free intensive course "Journey through Ukraine: Language and Culture" from Tuesday, 19 March in the university building at August-Bebel-Straße 12. It is aimed at anyone who is learning or has already learned Ukrainian as a foreign language and would like to improve their language skills and learn about the history of some Ukrainian cities and famous cultural sites.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., "Baking for the Easter Bunny" will take place for children aged 7 and over at Museum Viadrina. Easter cookies will be baked together in the atmosphere of Uroma's kitchen, which dates back to shortly after 1900 and is equipped with original kitchen furniture and cookware.
