The cities of Eisenhüttenstadt and Frankfurt (Oder) are inviting entrepreneurs from the region and interested parties to the event "Innovationsfunken: Artificial intelligence in production, trade and research" as part of their joint economic development program. The free event will take place on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 9.30 a.m. at the IPS Group in Eisenhüttenstadt.

The number of apprenticeships registered with the employment agency in East Brandenburg is almost exactly the same as last year. In Frankfurt (Oder) and the districts of Märkisch-Oderland and Oder-Spree, employers from the regional economy and administration registered a total of 2,339 company-based apprenticeships, which is 2 fewer than in the previous year.

Experts will talk about the roles of language, diplomacy and civil society in mediating conflicts at the discussion event "Peace Communication: Mediation, Language, Politics" on Thursday, November 14, starting at 2 p.m. at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). In 2004, the dental service of the Frankfurt (Oder) public health department launched the "Kita mit Biss" prevention program. This was prompted by the findings of the dental check-ups in the daycare centers. The aim was to create an environment that promotes oral health in the city's daycare centers. Practical guidelines for action were developed together with the nursery teachers. "Kita mit Biss" is now an integral part of everyday daycare in 589 daycare centers in 13 districts and four independent cities in Brandenburg as well as in facilities in six other federal states.

On October 11, 2024, representatives of the European twin cities of Tornio-Haparanda (FI-SE), Valga-Valka (EE-LV) and Gorizia-Nova Gorica (IT-SI) met with the city leaders of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice at Frankfurt City Hall. The exchange focused on joint, cross-border urban development projects.

Taking over a company instead of starting from scratch – this is the topic of a joint event by the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) Start-up Center and the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce on Tuesday, 5 November at 4.30 p.m. in the Viadrina Senate Hall. At the event, entrepreneur Ronny Gomoll will talk about his experiences. Gomoll took over two companies in 2023 – ABW Abbundwerk GmbH and Holz-Meyer GmbH.

In cooperation with the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt (Oder), works on the subject of literature will be exhibited for the first time from October 15 to December 14, 2024 in the Artothek in House 1 of the City and Regional Library, Bischofstraße 17. The exhibition will open on Tuesday, October 15 at 6 p.m. with a reading and introduction to the exhibition by artist Karla Woisnitza.

At the invitation of the education offices of the cities of Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam and with the support of the Regional Development Agency for Municipal Education Management (REAB) Brandenburg, guests from the Finnish-Swedish twin city of Tornio-Haparanda will be visiting the region from October 6 to 12, 2024 to exchange knowledge in the field of adult education. The main focus will be on exchanging information on the topics of digital education, historical-political education, qualifications in the education sector, coexistence of different cultures, multilingualism and the approaches and foundations of the education systems in Finland and Sweden.

Together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy of the State of Brandenburg, @see has developed a format to inform, exchange and discuss various topics in the @see region. The series of events will be continued and on 14.10.2024 in the Bürgerhaus Kagel, in Grünheide (Mark) together with Mr. Minister Rainer Genilke – Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Planning of the State of Brandenburg, invited to the event on "Infrastructure Development in the @see Region".
