Among the 23 TOP cities in the world

"IronHutCity" - Eisenhüttenstadt has also been known by this name in the USA since Tom Hanks' visit. GEO magazine recently named the city with the largest area monument in Germany as one of the 23 TOP cities worldwide. Tom Hanks' trabant ride through "IronHutCity" can be experienced here.

We are doing very well here, we feel good - the lakes, the nature, that we have the city on the one hand, but also the countryside so close together on the other. Then the international with Poland we find really good.

Historic town and village centers

The region is rich in architectural culture. With Bad Freienwalde, Altlandsberg and Beeskow, three cities belong to the AG Historische Stadtkerne. Many villages also look back on a long history.

The bookmobile is coming

Quickly borrow a book or a game without having to travel long distances? In the district of Oder-Spree, the mobile library stops at 75 locations, guaranteeing a truly local service. Daycare centers and schools are also served directly.

GDR History in the Museum Utopia and Everyday Life

Eisenhüttenstadt was the first new town founded in Germany after World War II. The Museum Utopia and Everyday Life combines two institutions that preserve the heritage of the GDR: The Documentation Center for Everyday Culture of the GDR in Eisenhüttenstadt and the Beeskow Art Archive, which houses works of art that lost their owners after 1990.

Whoever does top-level sports in Germany knows the Kienbaum training center in Grünheide and the Brandenburg Olympic base in Frankfurt (Oder). In popular sports, too, ODERLAND-SPREE has a diverse landscape of clubs to offer.
