Last week, the co-chairs of the Joint Committee of the European twin city Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice met to agree on the work plan for the committee work 2023.

The co-chairs, Agnieszka Pakulska and Wilko Möller, agreed to propose to the members of the Joint Committee to put on the agendas of cross-border fire, disaster or civil protection, joint issues of green spaces, transport and education, as well as twinning aspects. The committee's deliberations are also expected to lead to a proposal to the two city councils to hold a joint meeting to decide on projects for the Interreg VI A cooperation program in the new funding period.

The joint committee, which includes city council members from Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice, deals with matters of cooperation between the two cities, for example in the areas of tourism, sports, culture, education and urban design. The meetings of the committee, which are held quarterly, are regularly attended by representatives of both city administrations and external guests. The Joint Committee was convened for the first time in 2015 and is the only body of its kind on the German-Polish border.

The next committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 5:15 p.m. in the Oder Tower, Logenstrasse 8, Floor 9, Room "Heilbronn." Residents of the twin city can attend this.
