"Uni meets city" – Concert in the Audimax

For the eleventh time, the Viaphoniker University Orchestra and the Frankfurt Friends of Music Orchestra are inviting you to a joint concert entitled "Uni meets Stadt". On Thursday, June 20, starting at 7 p.m., the Viadrina Audimax will be filled with the sounds of classical and modern music under the direction of Markus Wolff from the Frankfurter Musikfreunde and Robert Hübner and Tony Köster from the Viaphoniker.

Re-use of castles in the modern and postmodern era – Lecture series

As part of the lecture series "The Palace as Residence. People and artifacts, continuities and ruptures since the 18th century" of the Research Center Sanssouci (University of Potsdam, Viadrina and Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation), Prof. Dr. Paul Zalewski from the Viadrina will give a lecture on Monday, 17 June at 4 p.m. on the topic of "Palaces and their subsequent use in the age of modernity and postmodernity".

Music school invites you to an open day

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, the open day of the Frankfurt (Oder) Music School will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interested people of all ages are invited to try out instruments and talk to the teachers. You can also listen to bands rehearsing in the Friedenskirche. A drumming workshop invites you to join in and a demonstration with an electric violin and loop station shows the diversity of the violin. Finally, there will be a concert in the Friedenskirche.

Kleist Prize now without age limit – Application still possible until August 31

The application phase for the Kleist Prize for New Drama 2025 is in full swing. Authors have until August 31 to submit their works for the award, which is being presented for the 30th time by the Kleiststadt Frankfurt (Oder), the Dramaturgische Gesellschaft and the Kleist Forum Frankfurt (Oder). For the first time, the age restriction has been lifted; previously, applicants could not be older than 35 at the closing date.

Convention against violence in the workplace – launch of feminist discussion series on labor law

Does German employment law offer sufficient protection? For whom? And to what extent does it enable intersectional and systemic inequalities and injustices to be addressed? The new English-language discussion series "Law ǀ Works" by the Center for Interdisciplinary Labour Law Studies (C*LLaS) at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), which is being held in Berlin, is dedicated to these questions. The discussion series will kick off on Monday, June 17, 6:30 p.m., at Refugio in Berlin.
