Old town festival in Bad Freienwalde with vintage car exhibition

From 6 to 7 September 2024, the historic old town of Bad Freienwalde will once again be the setting for a colorful festival full of culture, fun and entertainment for the whole family. Visitors can look forward to a colorful market, live music on the stages and in the courtyards, as well as many other attractions. As part of the Old Town Festival, classic car owners will be showcasing their gems on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Civil Protection Day and LSTE Open Day in Eisenhüttenstadt

A look behind the scenes of the State School and Technical Facility for Fire and Civil Protection (LSTE) in Eisenhüttenstadt will be available to all visitors on September 7, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civil Protection Day and the LSTE Open Day. The civil protection and civil defense teams offer a varied program and present their skills in the form of height rescue exercises, operational demonstrations, taster lessons and the catastrophe protection lighthouse of the city of Cottbus. Hands-on activities, face painting and a stage program invite every age group to find out more.

"Female ancestors" – Students develop online exhibition

As part of the seminar "Female Ancestors in Photographs and Documents", a research project began at the Faculty of Cultural Studies at the European University Viadrina in the summer semester of 2023 under the direction of Dr. Izabella Parowicz, in which students created a biography of a female ancestor living in the first half of the 20th century. The result is the online exhibition "Female Ancestors".

During the semester break, the University Library has changed its opening hours. From Monday, July 22, to Friday, August 2, the library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From Monday, August 5, to Friday, September 13, the library will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From Monday, September 16, the regular opening hours will apply again.

The ensemble False Consonance, which was honored this year with the title Rheinsberger Hofkapelle, will perform works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714 to 1788) and composers of his time on the occasion of his 310th birthday.
