Under the theme ‘Oderland-Spree 2030+’, key stakeholders from the region gathered at Neuzelle Abbey in spring 2026 for the second meeting of the Oderland-Spree Steering Group. Discussions on future issues relating to the development of commercial land, mobility and regional cooperation centred on the shared goal of developing viable strategies for strong and sustainable regional development.

On 10 September 2026, the Brandenburg Digital Day meets Wildau Administration Day will take place for the first time at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (TH Wildau). Under the motto ‘Thinking Digitally Together’, Brandenburg Digital Day and Wildau Administration Day are joining forces to create a joint flagship event for local and state authorities in Brandenburg.

For three years, researchers from the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), together with other partners, have been supporting four organic value-chain networks in Brandenburg, identifying success factors, challenges and future scenarios. On 27 August 2026, from 10 am to 12 noon, the research team will present the findings of the RegBio2B project in a Zoom conference.

On Friday 7 August at 3.00 p.m., there will be a guided tour of the current special exhibition “Beyond Prussia’s Gloria – The ‘Other’ Anton von Werner” at the Viadrina Municipal Museum. On display are studies of historical events, impressions of travels and landscapes, illustrations and decorative commissioned works.

The ‘Klassik ohne Grenzen’ open-air summer festival has long since become a fixture in the events calendar of the twin cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice. Held in the open air and with free admission, the festival offers a total of nine concerts over five weekends from 2 to 29 August.

Once again this year, the Film University Babelsberg’s popular Children’s Film University is touring Brandenburg. During the week from 3 August to 8 August 2026, the popular film workshop for young people aged 13 to 16 will take place at the Parkclub Fürstenwalde. During the six-day workshop, participants will be guided by two film professionals from the Babelsberg Film University as they bring their own small film project to life. 

On 2 July 2026 in Bernau, the East Brandenburg Chambers of Commerce and the ‘Netzwerk Zukunft’ network honoured 19 businesses, companies and organisations that are actively involved in careers guidance and had been nominated by schools. These entrepreneurs are particularly committed to providing career and higher education guidance in their home regions; they offer school pupils work experience placements or company tours and present their apprenticeship programmes at secondary schools and grammar schools.

The Berlin-Brandenburg Business Plan Competition (BPW) has recognised the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and its start-up support service for the fourth time as Brandenburg’s leading university for start-ups.

The Brandenburg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVBB) has launched a campaign to attract new GPs to Frankfurt (Oder). As part of this, the KVBB is offering a grant of up to 55,000 euros to GPs who set up a new practice in Frankfurt (Oder). The KVBB also offers further support.

The city of Frankfurt (Oder) is conducting an online survey from 15 to 31 July on social cohesion, civic engagement and opportunities for participation in the city of Frankfurt (Oder). The results will be analysed and incorporated into the planning of measures and future funding priorities of the Partnership for Democracy.
