European University Viadrina launches Germany's first certificate programme in Ukrainian Studies at Master's level

From the summer semester 2026, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will be offering a certificate programme in Ukrainian Studies for Master's students for the first time in Germany. The "Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies" programme enables students to take an in-depth look at Ukraine, its history, culture and society. As an accompanying study programme, it offers insights into social, cultural, legal, economic and media studies.

The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is awarding the 25th Viadrina Prize to the bestselling author, actor and cabaret artist Steffen Möller. With this award, the university is honouring his literary work and his artistic achievements as an entertainer and actor, with which he has contributed in a special way to a deeper understanding between Germany and Poland for many years. The award ceremony, followed by a cabaret show and drinks reception, will take place on Thursday 21 May at 4 p.m. in the Kleist Forum.

Cycling concept in progress: public participation begins

Promoting environmentally friendly mobility and improving the cycling situation in the city are important concerns for the city administration of Frankfurt (Oder). In order to significantly improve the conditions for cycling in the city, citizens are also invited to contribute their suggestions and comments to a new cycling concept. From 23 March to 3 May 2026, anyone interested in cycling has the opportunity to locate problems, conflicts and suggestions for improvement on an interactive online map and describe them using the comment function.
