Find out now and study at Viadrina from October: The information day at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) on Saturday, August 30, offers prospective students the opportunity to learn about degree programs, ask any questions they may have about their future studies and explore the campus. Studies can then begin as early as mid-October.

In the third phase of public participation in the new local transport plan, the focus is on accessibility in local public transport. Interested parties are still invited to use the interactive map to find out more, make suggestions and contribute their own proposals.

The German-Polish Tourist Information Office in Frankfurt (Oder) has once again been awarded the i-Mark by the German Tourism Association (DTV). With 92 percent in the quality test, it achieved its best result to date since the first certification in 2013 and thus continues to be one of the leading tourist information centers in Germany that meet the quality requirements to a particularly high degree.

In March 2025, the new format #darum FrankfurtOder – the NextStepNetzwerk – was launched at Frankfurt City Hall. The network aims to make the first few years of self-employment easier for founders and young companies. It helps them make important contacts, identify opportunities for cooperation and use resources more efficiently. With the signing by Kamila Szwajkowska, Managing Director of the Western Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZIPH) in Gorzów Wielkopolski, the "Cross-border Appeal of the Economy" is now officially supported by a total of four partners. In addition to the Polish Chamber of Commerce, the IHK Ostbrandenburg, the IHK Cottbus and the Lubuskie Employers' Association (Organizacja Pracodawców Ziemi Lubuskiej – OPZL) are also participating in the appeal.

IHK Ostbrandenburg is collecting data for the new rent index until the end of August – craft businesses are also invited to take part: The East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) is currently updating the rent index for commercial properties and is asking companies to take part in the data collection by means of an anonymous survey. In addition to IHK companies, the call is also aimed specifically at craft businesses that use production, storage or office space.

What do upheavals do to a city and how can futures be shaped? Researchers, artists and activists will come together from Monday, August 18 for the two-week Viadrinicum summer school at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). In several workshops, the participants will explore the twin city and develop their own projects and ideas from a documentary and urban planning perspective. The public is also invited to help shape several events.

With the melodies of the Oscar-winning "West Side Story", musical genius Leonard Bernstein is the focus of the concert on 9 August in Frankfurt's Lennépark. The following day at 11 a.m., Anouchka and Katharina Hack will play pieces by female composers on cello and piano. "All men become... sisters" is the title of their program, which ranges from Fanny Hensel to Alicia Keys.
