Organisers wanted for the Brandenburg Village and Harvest Festival 2027!

The pro agro association is calling for expressions of interest in organising the 22nd edition of the Brandenburg Village and Harvest Festival. Possible dates are 11 or 18 September 2027. The informal and non-binding expression of interest can be sent to pro agro by 8 May 2026. The deadline for a binding application is 26 June 2026.

Easter adventures in the mobile library: reading fun and an egg hunt on wheels

In the Oder-Spree district, the mobile library will become a mobile adventure location for the whole family during the Easter holidays. Under the motto "Easter adventures in the mobile library", visitors can look forward to a special hands-on experience from 30 March to 10 April 2026. In addition to the wide range of media on offer – from exciting books, Tonies, magazines and films to music, games and interactive tiptoi media – a special activity will provide extra fun this year: the Easter bunny has hidden at least one egg at every stop. If you look carefully through the shelves, you may be lucky enough to discover a little surprise.

European University Viadrina opens coworking space

The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is opening the Viadrina Coworking Space on Wednesday, 15 April. In future, people will be able to learn, research and work here individually and collaboratively in a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. The former canteen between the Auditorium Maximum and the student hall of residence at Logenstraße 3 was converted over a five-year construction period. On 1,400 square metres, the coworking space offers a place divided into several areas that can be used not only by Viadrina students and employees, but also by the regional public.

The Volkshochschule Frankfurt (Oder) (VHS) is organising a series of online courses on digital skills, project management and marketing in spring and early summer 2026. "Modular research and innovation factory for AI & microelectronics starts" – first approved AI-DISCO module begins work

BMFTR funds AI-DISCO with 15 million euros - open platform to bring energy-efficient AI to where data is generated. The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) has approved funding of 15 million euros for the AI-DISCO - Edge Cloud AI for Distributed Sensing & Computing project. AI-DISCO is the first module of the R+I Factory (Research and Innovation Factory AI & Microelectronic), a novel, nationwide, modular research and innovation structure at the interface of artificial intelligence and microelectronics.
