With Stasi-Walter in the night bar: "HOTEL EINHEIT" railroad theater tells of encounters between East and West

The Theater Das Letzte Kleinod and the Kleist Forum are bringing the "HOTEL EINHEIT" back to life in this year's summer production and taking the audience on a journey back in time to the heyday of one of the best theaters in Frankfurt (Oder). The open-air theater can be seen from August 8 to 11 on the railroad grounds on Fürstenwalder Straße/August-Bebel-Straße.

Call for volunteers for the Nature Conservation Advisory Board for the term of office from 2025 to 2029

In accordance with Section 35 of the Brandenburg Nature Conservation Implementation Act, the Nature Conservation Advisory Board at the lower nature conservation authority of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) is to be filled for the term of office from 2025 to 2029 in order to represent the interests of nature conservation and landscape management as well as to provide scientific and expert advice. Interested citizens have until August 23, 2024 to apply for voluntary work on the nature conservation advisory board.

Viadrina students provide an international and female city festival program with He(a)ring in the garden of the Kleist Museum

Once a year, students from the European University Viadrina take over the garden of the Kleist Museum with the He(a)ring and offer a diverse range of music, poetry slams and workshops on the weekend of the "Bunter Hering" city festival. From Friday, July 12, to Sunday, July 14, the focus will be on female talent from all over the world, in keeping with the museum's current special exhibition on the famous Frankfurt writer Ulrike von Kleist. From a drumming and dance workshop to a set by the oldest Polish DJ and poetry slam, there is something for everyone.

Opening ceremony of the Competence Network for Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies (KIU) with prominent figures from research, politics and music

On Thursday, July 11, 2024, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will ceremoniously open the KIU from 4:00 p.m. The opening will begin with speeches and a panel discussion in the Logensaal of the Viadrina, Logenstraße 11. After an official reception, the opening of the KIU will be celebrated with a concert by the celebrated jazz singer Ganna Gryniva and her GANNA Ensemble from 8:00 p.m. Anyone interested can attend the concert at Stuck, Lindenstraße 7, free of charge and without registration.

Guided tours of the town hall during the HanseStadtFest "Bunter Hering"

As part of the HanseStadtFestival "Bunter Hering", guided tours of the renovated town hall, Marktplatz 1, will be offered on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, 2024 – in accordance with the expert approvals granted up to this point. On both days, two simultaneous guided tours of a maximum of 60 minutes will take place at 10.00 a.m., 12.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. Guided tours are offered for Polish-speaking visitors at the following times: Saturday and Sunday, at 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. respectively.
