Reading and music: The tenderness of sweet love

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., musician Thomas Strauch will dedicate himself to the baroque poet Johann Christian Günther (1695–1723) at the Frankfurt City and Regional Library: Günther created a rich treasure trove of poetic texts in his short life.

These describe the meaning and abundance of a restless life at the beginning of the 18th century. Poems set to music become songs that carefully translate Günther's poetry into the present day.
