With "Blueprint", they not only created a song, but a real blueprint for sophisticated pop music. The sound of the Berlin band led by singer and songwriter Katharina Franck still proves its worth four decades after its formation: When pop is done well, it goes straight to the heart. On May 29, 2026, the Rainbirds will be performing at the Messehallen Frankfurt (Oder).
The band will be returning to the stage with an expanded original line-up to celebrate their 40th anniversary: founding members Katharina Franck and bassist Michael Beckmann as well as pianist Ulrike Haage will be joined on stage by electric guitarist Werner Neumann and drummer Dominique "Gaga" Ehlert. For the anniversary concert series, Rodrigo González, bassist with "Die Ärzte", and founding member Wolfgang Glum will also be guests.
"These will be the best Rainbirds ever," promises Katharina Franck, the leading bird with the still clear and variable voice and the only constant in the formation, which has been constantly changing since 1986. Through The Web Of Time – 40 Years, One Voice is the title of the major German tour, which focuses on all seven albums - from the celebrated debut "Rainbirds" to 2014's "Yonder".
