The author and literary scholar Prof. Dr. Ottmar Ette will be presenting his new novel "Mein Name sei Amo" at the European University Viadrina on Wednesday, 15 January at 6.00 pm. In it, he describes in literary terms the life of Anton Wilhelm Amo, who became known as the first African-born philosopher in the German-speaking world in the 18th century.

Since Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 12:00 noon, Polnische Straße has been completely reopened to traffic after a full closure of around seven months. The road connection built in 2021 from Polnische Straße in the Frankfurt (Oder) South freight village (GVZ) to the B 112 was extended by an additional lane over a length of 700 m in order to increase the efficiency of public transport access to GVZ-Süd.
