On Saturday, November 30, 2024, the City of Frankfurt (Oder), together with the Employment Agency, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation, invites you to this year's Frankfurt (Oder) Training Fair. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., visitors to the Frankfurt exhibition grounds will be able to find out about a wide range of training and career opportunities.

Just in time for European Waste Prevention Week, the Märkisch-Oderland waste management company (EMO) is launching a new website at www.abfallberatung-mol.de. It is dedicated to the topics of waste prevention, resource protection and waste recycling. Every year in November, the European Week for Waste Prevention draws attention to the topics of resource and climate protection. This is what the three R's of the Europe-wide campaign week stand for: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

The "Chefinsache/Chefsache" campaign for skilled workers and locations was launched in Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Märkisch-Oderland (MOL) with an impressive poster campaign. The Ohnsorg Theater presents a North Sea comedy: love, passion, a crime and plenty of North German humor are the ingredients of the crime comedy "Landunter - Eine Nacht am Ende der Welt". The first play by North Sea crime novelist Hendrik Berg has what it takes to become an Ohnsorg classic. It can be experienced in High German at the Kleist Forum.

In the "Best of Poetry Slam", five top poets give an insight into what moves them and their world. With stories close to the pulse of the times, they compete against each other to win the audience's favor.

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the city and regional library will once again attract visitors to both buildings with a wide range of activities. There will be a program for young and old from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. One highlight is the sofa concert at 12.00 p.m.: Frankfurt beatboxer ERIBOX introduces himself and his music.

The Viadrina Municipal Museum is pleased to announce a significant new acquisition: It is an oil painting by Carl Alexander Brendel (1877–1945) from 1928. The painting is entitled "Storm over the Oder Meadows" and shows the hustle and bustle of farm workers trying to get the hay on the Oder meadows to safety in time before the approaching downpour.

On Wednesday, November 20 at 4 p.m., the anthology "Linking Borderlands" will be presented, which sheds light on the complexity and dynamics of European border regions as contact and transition zones. The volume presents the results of the interdisciplinary joint project "Linking Borderlands: Dynamics of Border Regional Peripheries" funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
