Märkisch-Oderland district gets pedalling – 19th city cycling competition is just around the corner

City Cycling is a competition in which the aim is to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way for 21 days. It doesn't matter whether someone already cycles every day or has rarely travelled by bike so far. Every kilometre counts – especially if it would otherwise have been travelled by car. This year, the competition will take place from 7 to 27 June 2026.

ERUAvision Song Contest at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum – European students present their music

Just before the 70th Eurovision Song Contest is held in Vienna, the ERUAvision Song Contest will take place on Thursday, 7 May at 7.00 p.m. on the studio stage of the Kleist Forum. Solo artists and music groups from Italy, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Germany and Lithuania will create a musical evening with their self-produced songs. The audience in the room and in the livestream as well as a jury with judges from all participating countries will vote on the best performance.

European University Viadrina is reforming its range of courses: from the winter semester 2026/27, it will offer five new Master's degree programmes and a new Bachelor's degree programme. IHK Ostbrandenburg publishes new commercial rent index for the region: With the 2026 commercial rent index, the IHK Ostbrandenburg has now published an up-to-date overview of commercial rents in the districts of Uckermark, Barnim, Märkisch-Oderland, Oder-Spree and the city of Frankfurt (Oder). It contains an overview of current existing rents for shops, offices, surgeries, law firms, restaurants as well as production and storage space at 16 locations in East Brandenburg.
