"Popcorn Symphony" – The film music concert with the BSOF

Film music with a big orchestral sound – the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt (BSOF) invites you to the "Popcorn Symphony" on 15 May at 7.30 p.m. in Frankfurt's exhibition halls. You can hear some of the best soundtracks from 70 years of cinema history.

The BSOF will be playing Billie Eilish's Oscar-winning theme song "What Was I Made For" for Greta Gerwing's multi-award-winning film "Barbie". Paul McCartney's "Live And Let Die", written for the James Bond film "Live And Let Die", can also be heard. It is one of the most successful Bond theme tunes of all time.

Film music by John Williams – from "Indiana Jones" and other blockbusters, Michael Nymann's music from the film "The Piano", Ennio Morricone's soundtrack from "The Untouchables", Miles Davis' iconic music for "Elevator to the Scaffold" and the theme song written by Clint Eastwood and his son Kyle for Eastwood's self-deprecating social drama "Gran Torino" will also be performed with a rich orchestral sound.

It is an evening of great emotions, great sounds and world-famous, rousing melodies, a mixture of rock, pop and modern classical music.

The concert will be conducted by film music specialist Bernd Ruf. He is one of the pioneers in bringing together symphonic music, pop, rock and jazz. He will be joined on stage by his son Ilja. The pianist, singer, clarinettist and composer has won top prizes in both classical and jazz competitions – and demonstrates his versatility here.
