On Europe Day, the traditional German-Polish cycle tour will once again take place. The Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC) and the German-Polish Society Brandenburg (DPG) invite you to a family-friendly day tour on Saturday, 9 May 2026, meeting point 10 a.m. on the station forecourt in Frankfurt (Oder).

The route leads past Lake Helene to Schlaubehammer, from where it follows the idyllic cycle path along the Friedrich Wilhelm Canal. The first waterway connection between the Spree and Oder was established here over 350 years ago. At Kunitzer Loose, we also reach the Oder and follow it upstream to Aurith. There, the cycle group crosses over to the Polish side. The ferry is expected to cost 3 euros per person with bike and must be paid for individually by the participants themselves with a card. Children up to the age of 6 travel free of charge.

In Urad, a lookout tower with a picnic area invites you to take a long break. You should bring your own food and drink for this. Finally, the route leads along quiet roads and paths on the Polish side of the Oder back to Słubice and Frankfurt, where the cyclists arrive back at around 6 p.m.

The tour offers a great opportunity to spend a day outdoors, learn about the fascinating history of the region and celebrate Europe Day together as a German-Polish team. The Frankfurt (Oder) branch of the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club invites all cycling enthusiasts, nature lovers and anyone who appreciates good neighbourly relations to take part!

The medium-difficulty 56 km bike tour is suitable for families and all types of bikes. Participation is free of charge.
