A new start in Beeskow: the presence centre of the European University Viadrina and the TH Wildau becomes the "presence centre Oderland-Spree | Beeskow "

The presence centre Oderland-Spree | Beeskow  is a joint institution of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) and the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau and is one of seven presence centres in the state of Brandenburg. Its aim is to provide direct access to universities and non-university research institutions in the state of Brandenburg, particularly in rural regions that are remote from higher education.

Active in the region in and around Fürstenwalde since 2020, a new chapter is now beginning in cooperation with the city of Beeskow and the Oder-Spree district: as another player in the Incubator Village Beeskow, the presence centre will move into premises in the Alte Tischlerei on the Spree Island and expand its area of activity to the entire Oderland-Spree region.

The decision to further develop the concept is based on the Regional Development Strategy (RES), which defines Oderland-Spree as an independent planning region. The existing cooperation with supra-regional partners and networks, such as the Regionalen Planungsgemeinschaft Oderland-Spree and Regionalmanagement Oderland-Spree, will be expanded as part of the new direction. 

In terms of content, the presence centre will focus even more strongly on the transfer of knowledge to society - with a particular focus on rural areas. In addition to proven activities, new dialogue and participation formats will provide impetus for the future-oriented development of the Oderland-Spree region. Activities in Fürstenwalde such as the popular Brandenburg Science Slam, which will once again take place at the Kulturfabrik Fürstenwalde on 19 June 2026, will also be continued. As a reliable local university partner, the presence centre will continue to support regional stakeholders from business, administration and civil society.
