Drei Eichen invites you to the clay oven day: the oven will be fired up in the morning and the first treats from the oven and grill can be expected from 12 noon. There will be tarte flambée and various types of bread, grilled sausages, game goulash and vegan dishes, coffee, tea and cake, mulled wine, children's punch from the Waldcafé and freshly squeezed apple juice. There is also a small flea market on site.

The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) welcomes its new students. Following the induction week, the lecture period for the winter semester 2025/26 begins on Monday, October 13. The Oder-Spree district is planning a comprehensive reorganization of its municipal companies in the health and care sector. Autumn revival on the labor market after a rise in unemployment: In September, a total of 14,825 people were registered as unemployed in the city of Frankfurt (Oder), the district of Märkisch-Oderland and the district of Oder-Spree. This is 515 fewer than in August and 542 more than in September 2024. The unemployment rate is 6.5 percent. In August, it stood at 6.7 percent and in September last year at 6.3 percent.

Three East German women get drunk and found the ideal state ... and then they come to the Theater am Rand. On Sunday, October 12, Wenke Seemann, Annett Gröschner and Peggy Mädler will read from their acclaimed book. It is the start of the author reading series "So far, so near".

The house opens up for a polyphonic experience of music, dance, puppet theater and concert. A walk-in total work of art: audiences can wander freely through six stations in and around the theater and discover the changing scenes – from an oversized puppet show in the forecourt to a birthday table with guests from seven decades of theater history, with their stories, memories and dreams.

Henryk Bereska is a still underestimated East German translator and poet, critical thinker and initiator of the intellectual debate on Polish literature in Germany. To mark the 20th anniversary of his death this year and the 100th anniversary of his birth next year, the Karl Dedecius Foundation of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is organizing a personal and literary evening of remembrance for Henryk Bereska on Wednesday, 15 October.

This year, the city of Frankfurt (Oder) is once again inviting all senior citizens aged 65 and over to the traditional "We are one big family" series of events. From December 3 to 7, the festively decorated exhibition hall will open its doors for afternoons of coffee and cake, music, encounters and entertainment.
