What happens when people can no longer manage their own affairs – be it in old age, after an accident or in a personal crisis? This question will be addressed on Wednesday, 28 January at 2:15 p.m. in a special public, practical event on guardianship law as part of a lecture on family law by Viadrina lawyer Prof. Dr. Ulla Gläßer.
The event will focus in particular on the importance of health care proxies, care and living wills and show how early arrangements can help to safeguard your own wishes and relieve the burden on relatives.
As guest experts, a former guardianship judge, the managing director of a Berlin guardianship association and an independent professional guardian will report from different perspectives on legal guardianship between the mandate to protect and self-determination.
