The second weekend in June is traditionally marked by the Landpartie in Brandenburg. For the 29th time, farm gates, stable doors and inns will be wide open on June 8 and 9 to give visitors a glimpse behind the scenes of agriculture and rural life. Seenland Oder-Spree is also preparing for this weekend and those interested need to plan well to be able to visit the more than 20 participants in Brandenburg's largest travel region on both days.

Since March 2024, the Oderland control center has been working with the interpreting hotline of the Berlin-based company Triaphon. By using the hotline, ten other languages in addition to English can now be covered when handling emergency calls. This means that the type of emergency can be determined quickly and appropriate assistance can be organized effectively.

The "Career Compass 2024", the largest training and job fair in East Brandenburg, which took place on 24/25 May in and around the Giebelseehalle in Petershagen, attracted an even larger number of interested parties this year than last year. Hundreds of visitors, most of them 9th–12th grade students, flocked to the fairgrounds as soon as it opened to find out about their career options and make contact with potential employers.

Statements, site visit, discussion – this is the motto of the local discussion of the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeological State Museum on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Frankfurt (Oder) Town Hall, Marktplatz 1. This event is aimed at an interested specialist audience and focuses on the building and construction site history of Frankfurt Town Hall.

On Thursday, June 27, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) invites you to its Open Day. Between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., prospective students can gain an impression of studying at Viadrina and student life in Frankfurt (Oder) during lectures, library tours, campus walks and a residence hall tour. Staff and students will be on hand at information stands to answer any questions you may have.

The Fair Intercultural Summer (FIKS) combines the nationwide Fair Week with the Intercultural Week and has been an important part of the development of a diverse and sustainable culture in Frankfurt (Oder) for many years. This year's FIKS begins on Saturday, June 1 with a Fair Breakfast. The summer program then reaches its climax on 14 September with the "Festival of Diversity".

With 250 invited guests and under special protective conditions, the historic town hall of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) was reopened on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 after extensive renovation work. In the presence of Minister President Dr. Dietmar Woidke and Uwe Schüler, State Secretary in the Brandenburg Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Planning, as well as many guests involved in the construction, financing and further securing of the major project, architect Ralf Fleckenstein handed over a symbolic key to Lord Mayor René Wilke, who is now once again the landlord after more than four years of construction.

For the third time, Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice are jointly organizing the Cultural Summer in the twin city, which will offer a variety of cultural events in different formats on almost every weekend from 5 July to 31 August. From concerts and family festivals to performances and open-air cinema – the twin city invites residents and guests to discover familiar and new places in the Oder cities and enjoy cultural entertainment.

"Arsenic and Lace Hoods", a masterpiece of black humor, can be seen at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum on 25 and 26 May. The guest performance by the Hans Otto Theater from Potsdam exposes the banality of evil hidden behind petty-bourgeois normality and bourgeoisie.

The Bürgerbühne at the Kleist Forum presents "An der Grenze zur guten Hoffnung" – In its last major production of the 2023/24 season, the Bürgerbühne at the Kleist Forum focuses on life in Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice: In "On the Border of Good Hope", people who have consciously chosen to live in the twin city tell why they absolutely want to stay here. The play developed by guest director Christiane Lehmann premieres on May 24 at the Studiobühne.
