During the summer vacations, the Viadrina Municipal Museum is offering four varied vacation activities. The city of Frankfurt (Oder) provides participation free of charge. Due to limited space, please register in good time.
 

Make your own funny hand puppets

Thursday, 7 August 2025 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
In this workshop, children aged 6 and over can make their own colorful hand puppets. Clean, old socks are needed to make the puppets and can be brought along. The number of participants is limited to 12. The duration is about 1.5 hours. It is recommended that you wear color-safe clothing.
 

On a discovery tour – museum rally I

Thursday, August 14, 2025 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Quiz questions and tasks are solved during this rally through the first floor and second floor of the museum. A colorful mix of quizzes, activities and playful exploration awaits. The target group is children aged 8 to 11, with a maximum of 12 participants. The event lasts around 1.5 hours and ends with a small prize.
 

Creative workshop: Imaginative stucco ceiling designs for the museum in the Junkerhaus

Thursday, August 28, 2025 | 2:00–3:30 p.m.
Children aged 7 to 13 can create their own designs for the museum's stucco ceilings. After exploring the stucco ceilings on site, the ideas are put on paper. Animals, colorful flowers, people, landscapes or wild patterns – there are no limits to the imagination. Creative techniques such as drawing, painting or collage are possible. The maximum number of participants is 12. Please remember to wear color-safe clothing.
 

Discover Medieval Frankfurt – Museum rally on the Middle Ages in Frankfurt

Thursday, September 4, 2025 | 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
This rally is aimed at children aged 11 and over as well as young people and families. It takes you on a journey through the medieval history of Frankfurt, answering questions about the founding of the city, social structures and everyday life. What professions were practiced? How did people dress? Where did they live? And what was on the menu? Participants will find exciting answers to all these questions in a variety of tasks and puzzles. A maximum of 20 people can take part; the duration is around 1.5 hours.
