Great success for the Oder-Spree district: DALLI – the on-demand transport service in the Storkow and Scharmützelsee area is one of the 20 winners of the national competition "Arbeitswege gestalten. Mobile in rural areas".

DALLI impressed the expert jury with its innovative approach that is also suitable for everyday use: as demand-oriented on-demand transport, DALLI offers a flexible alternative to private cars and enables people in the district to get to and from work easily without their own car. The project therefore not only contributes to the mobility transition, but also to improving the quality of life and accessibility in rural areas.

In the coming weeks, the competition jury will also select the three best projects from the 20 winners. They can look forward to an additional award in the form of a professionally produced short film – a great opportunity to make the DALLI project known beyond the region.

County Councillor Frank Steffen is delighted with the award: "With DALLI, we have shown that sustainable mobility does not end at city limits. The award confirms our commitment to flexible, sustainable solutions in rural areas."

The closing ceremony will take place on October 27, 2025 at Deichmanns Aue Palace in Bonn. All the winning projects will be honored there and introduced in short presentations. It will then also be revealed whether DALLI has perhaps even made it into the top three.

Tim Jurrmann, mobility expert in the Oder-Spree district, is keeping his fingers crossed: "With DALLI, we are sending out a clear signal for modern, needs-based mobility in everyday life. The award encourages us to continue on this path."

As part of the award, the DALLI project is also published as a practical example on Mobilikon.de, the nationwide online reference work for municipal mobility solutions. In this way, the Oder-Spree district is actively contributing to the transfer of knowledge and good ideas to other municipalities facing similar challenges.

Good to know

The competition "Designing routes to work. Mobile in rural areas" competition is organized by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) at the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR). It is held on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) as part of the federal program "Region gestalten". The aim of the competition is to highlight and promote sustainable mobility solutions for commuter traffic in rural regions – particularly in the area of corporate mobility management. The competition is intended to show that equal living conditions can also be supported by intelligent mobility solutions – because modern, sustainable mobility must not end at city limits. The award-winning projects provide concrete examples of how mobility in rural areas can be rethought and successfully implemented.
