Citizen Budget 2024: Project proposals for the year 2024 can still be submitted until July 31, 2023. As before, a maximum of 10,000 euros is available for a project, provided that it can be implemented by the end of the following year and is the responsibility of the city of Frankfurt (Oder).

The KulturPass is an offer from the German government for all those who reach the age of 18 in 2023. They receive a virtual budget of 200.00 euros, which they can use for tickets, books, CDs, records and the like. The KulturPass app has been available since June 14, 2023, and includes a wealth of cultural institutions and creative experiences for young people. After a good 2 ½ years of construction, the visitor center at the Brecht-Weigel House in Buckow could be ceremoniously opened today. District Administrator Gernot Schmidt and Brandenburg's State Secretary for Culture Tobias Dünow opened the new visitor center today together with many guests.

Starting July 30, the open-air summer festival "Classics without Borders" will lure musical delights to the most beautiful parks in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)-Słubice. Over six weekends, guests can expect a crossover program of chamber music, contemporary interpretations and original arrangements, performed by international ensembles, with free admission. Also on the program is a children's opera that invites you on a journey through the world of classical music.

The Oekumenische Europa-Centrum Frankfurt (Oder) e.V. in cooperation with the European University Viadrina has brought the monumental sculpture SORRY by Polish artist Joanna Rajkowska to Frankfurt (Oder). For the first time, the work, which was named one of the ten most important art events in Poland last year, can be seen internationally.

The current exchange deadline affects holders of driver's licenses born between 1965 and 1970 who are still in possession of a paper document. These must be exchanged by January 19, 2024.

For this year's HanseStadtFest, which will take place in Frankfurt (Oder) from July 7 to 9, 2023, sustainable mobility is also a focus of the planning, in addition to the colorful program. As part of the festive opening program for the HanseStadtFest "Bunter Hering" the city marketing Frankfurt (Oder) organizes on Wednesday, July 5, an attunement of the special kind: For the first time in the history of the city is invited to a common yoga experience in a church. The yoga hour in the St. Mary's Church will be led by a trained yoga teacher, who will design a contemplative and at the same time vitalizing yoga unit.
