Researchers at the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) have investigated how water from streams can be specifically stored in the soil during wet periods. The study was published in the Journal of Hydrology: Regional Studies.

The Leibniz Institute for Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) e.V. will henceforth operate under the name Leibniz Institute for Horticultural Sciences (IGZ) e.V. The International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) opened its doors today at BER Airport. According to an IHK survey, practical relevance and the prospect of a permanent role are the most important factors contributing to trainee satisfaction in the eastern German states – a total of 85 per cent of trainees in IHK-accredited professions would recommend the training programme at their company to others. A direct link to practical work remains particularly important for young people: around 94 per cent of those surveyed stated that practical tasks and immediate immersion in everyday working life are key reasons for choosing an apprenticeship.

Sustainability has long been a key issue at universities. But how can intentions be turned into measurable successes and credibly demonstrated? TH Wildau is leading the way in this regard: as one of the first universities in Brandenburg, it is introducing the European environmental management system EMAS. In doing so, the university is linking strategic goals with concrete, verified action on campus.
