Pupils from the Frankfurt (Oder) Music School achieved outstanding success at this year’s national “Jugend musiziert” competition in Regensburg.
Rahel Pontigo was awarded a 3rd place prize at national level in the vocal category. The pupil at the Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Gymnasium is taught both classical guitar and singing as part of the music school’s programme for gifted pupils. She has already celebrated numerous successes at “Jugend musiziert” in previous years and has been awarded special and national prizes on several occasions.
In addition to her competition successes, Rahel Pontigo plays an active role in the musical life of the music school. She regularly takes part in concerts, projects and events, enriching the cultural life of the town through her musical activities. She is taught in the singing department by Antje Finkenwirth.
The trombonist Alma Marie Loichen was awarded a 2nd National Prize in the brass instruments category. She too was a pupil at the music school for many years and received targeted support as part of the programme for gifted pupils. Since the start of this school year, she has been attending the “Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach” Music Grammar School in Berlin, but remains closely connected to her musical home in Frankfurt (Oder).
The music school and the city of Frankfurt (Oder) congratulate both young musicians on their achievements. These successes impressively demonstrate the potential that can be developed through continuous support, dedicated teachers and the intensive work of the programme for gifted students.
Music school director Anne Voigt: “We are extremely proud of Rahel and Alma Marie. Both have worked for many years with great discipline, passion and musical curiosity. Their successes are not only a personal achievement, but also a wonderful example of the quality of musical education at our music school.”
