Graduation Day on the Viadrina Campus / Media Appointment

On Saturday, June 24, 2023, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) celebrates Graduation Day. On this day, around 180 graduates will receive their certificates in a festive setting and celebrate their graduation with friends and families. The graduation ceremonies of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Faculty of Cultural Studies and Faculty of Law will be followed by a reception on the campus square.

Railroad theater "OVER THE FENCE" tells recent German history

The theater Das Letzte Kleinod and the Kleist Forum are bringing a special chapter of German-German history to life this summer: the escape of thousands of GDR citizens who climbed over the fence of the West German embassy in Prague to force their way out to the West. "ÜBER DEN ZAUN" can be seen from June 24 to 26 as an open-air theater on the railroad grounds in Frankfurt (Oder).

Second step of citizen's income reform comes into force on July 1

Further key core elements of the Citizen's Allowance introduced in January 2023 will take effect at the start of the second half of the year. Reading picnic at the Pablo Neruda Block on July 1.

The Basic Education Center of the Adult Education Center Frankfurt (Oder) invites on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to a festival of reading at the Pablo Neruda Block. Various booths with puzzles and games, readings for children, a story workshop and various performances offer a program for the whole family. Music will be played by Emilia and Alma Loichen (horn and trombone) from the Music School Frankfurt (Oder).
