With the onset of the Ukraine crisis and the inflation-related price trends for food across the board, the reluctance to buy is also affecting small and medium-sized companies in the food industry in Brandenburg. The opportunity to influence consumer attitudes and, not least, purchasing behaviour in the medium term in these times had already been recognized by the Brandenburg Food Industry Entrepreneurs' Initiative and flanked by campaigns in 2022 and 2023.

The AGRARGENOSSENSCHAFT NEUZELLE, an agricultural enterprise equipped with state-of-the-art technology and "scattered" across 18 municipalities and 13 locations in south-east Brandenburg, was awarded the pro agro Marketing Prize 2024 in the direct marketing category. As active cooperative members, the more than 60 families rely on closed cycles as a quality feature.

With the "MedEx 2024" project, the Office for District Development and Infrastructure would like to invite medical students who have passed their final medical exams to spend two days in the Oder-Spree district in September and present the municipality to them as an interesting, modern and exciting place to work and live. Making teaching materials publicly accessible and cooperatively developing them further is one of the aims of the "Community for Knowledge Transfer OER: Network of Educational Stakeholders (CO-WOERK)" project, which was launched in June under the leadership of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) and the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences. For the first time, the age restriction has been lifted; previously, applicants could not be older than 35 at the closing date.

On Children's Day, the dancers from the Ulrika Lang Ballet School impressively presented their skills in their annual public performance at Frankfurt's Kleist Forum. Based on Peter Tchaikovsky's ballet "Sleeping Beauty", the sold-out show was an experience for all participants, relatives, friends and theater fans.

Since March 2024, the Oderland control center has been working with the interpreting hotline of the Berlin-based company Triaphon. By using the hotline, ten other languages in addition to English can now be covered when handling emergency calls. This means that the type of emergency can be determined quickly and appropriate assistance can be organized effectively.
