20 years of the "Kita mit Biss" prevention program

In 2004, the dental service of the Frankfurt (Oder) public health department launched the "Kita mit Biss" prevention program. This was prompted by the findings of the dental check-ups in the daycare centers. The aim was to create an environment that promotes oral health in the city's daycare centers. Practical guidelines for action were developed together with the nursery teachers. "Kita mit Biss" is now an integral part of everyday daycare in 589 daycare centers in 13 districts and four independent cities in Brandenburg as well as in facilities in six other federal states.

Oder-Spree district takes stock after the floods

Information on the flood situation in the Oderland-Spree region: Alert level III in LOS expected for Monday

On September 18, the State Office for the Environment (LfU) declared alert level I for Ratzdorf and Eisenhüttenstadt (Oder-Spree district). On 19.09.2024, the water level in Kienitz (Märkisch-Oderland district) was 324 cm, an increase of 41 cm compared to the previous day (283 cm). According to current LfU forecasts, the first gauges in Märkisch-Oderland will reach alert level III on September 23. It is likely that alert level IV will follow the A III very quickly.

Mobile twin city: transport infrastructure must be adapted to cross-border integration

In preparation for the flood situation expected at the weekend, the districts of Oder-Spree and Märkisch-Oderland and the city of Frankfurt (Oder) have coordinated their crisis teams, in which internal and external structures work together, involving not only fire and disaster control but also building and environmental authorities, police and THW. The flood warning center of the state of Brandenburg had already issued flood warnings on 16.09.2024.
