Consumer demand for regional products from the food industry continues unabated in this country - despite global crises and the tense economic situation here in Germany. Or would it be better to say: this is precisely why "the regional" is gaining popularity, because it stands for familiarity, transparency and reliability?

The fact that the direct marketing route (weekly markets, farm stores, online retail, vending machines, etc.) is becoming increasingly important for suppliers and customers was confirmed by the Direct Marketing and Food Trade Day, which was organized by the pro agro association together with the Brandenburg Rural Forum - Network and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, and took place on 16 October 2025 at the Heimvolksschule am Seddiner See. With around 70 participants from direct marketing and the food trade as well as regional initiatives and politics, the event was very popular.
