The Oder-Spree municipal job center is starting the new year with an anniversary: 20 years since it was founded in 2005. It was a time in which the Oder-Spree district faced an enormous challenge, as the unemployment rate was almost 20 percent. Since the job center was founded, the labour market situation has developed positively. Today, the unemployment rate is around 6.4 percent - a significant decrease that reflects a stable and sustainable development of the labor market.

The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is intensifying its international networking. It has just become the first university in Brandenburg to be accepted into two renowned global university alliances.
