In the city of Frankfurt (Oder), the district of Märkisch-Oderland and the district of Oder-Spree, a total of 15,753 people were registered as unemployed in February. The unemployment rate thus remained unchanged compared to January 2025.

Studying corporate taxation and learning the profession in practice at the same time - this is made possible by the new dual Bachelor's degree course in Business Taxation at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). Prospective students can enrol on this course for the first time in the winter semester 2025/26 and study for seven semesters while working in tax consulting firms and companies in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Since January 1, 2025, citizens have been able to apply for housing benefit from the comfort of their own home on the district's website without having to visit the office in person.
