The European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) has once again taken top place in the Federal University Ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) and the weekly newspaper Die ZEIT. The ranking, which also takes student assessments into account, once again recognises Viadrina's excellent study conditions with excellent support and an outstanding international orientation.
Leading positions for support, integration of theory and practice and internationalisation in business and economics degree programmes
In terms of study conditions, internationalisation and support, the business and economics bachelor's degree programmes International Business Administration, International Business Administration and the dual Bachelor's degree programme Auditing are among the best in Germany. Students awarded top marks for the support provided by lecturers and the range of courses, for digital learning and the organisation of examinations. Viadrina is also ahead of the rest of Germany in terms of support and opportunities to study abroad and internationalisation on site.
Viadrina is also in the top group when it comes to the integration of theory and practice in the dual study programmeAuditing.
Law degree programme receives top marks from students - integrated Master's from October 2026
The Law degree programme (state examination) is also a national leader when it comes to study conditions. In the students' assessment, the individual supervision and support from lecturers, the range of courses and the organisation of examinations in particular received top marks, which are well above the national average. The excellent individual support at the start of studies was emphasised.
An expression of this focus on the needs of students, particularly in the demanding law degree programme (state examination), is the introduction of a Master's degree in "German and European Law" (LL.M.) in the winter semester 2026/27. The degree, which is integrated into the State Examination in Law programme, complements the existing Bachelor of Laws degree and offers students a legal degree regardless of the outcome of the State Examination.
