On August 5, 2024, the Voivode of Lubuskie Marek Cebula received the representatives of the Euroregion PRO EUROPA VIADRINA, Mr. Jacek Wójcicki, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Polish Municipalities of the Euroregion "Pro Europa Viadrina", and Mr. Rainer Schinkel, Chairman of the association "Mittlere Oder" e.V., for a working meeting.

As part of the seminar "Female Ancestors in Photographs and Documents", a research project began at the Faculty of Cultural Studies at the European University Viadrina in the summer semester of 2023 under the direction of Dr. Izabella Parowicz, in which students created a biography of a female ancestor living in the first half of the 20th century. The result is the online exhibition "Female Ancestors".

Mr. Rainer Schinkel, Alderman and Head of Department I of the district of Märkisch-Oderland, met with Mr. Krzysztof Karwatowicz, the new District Administrator of the district of Gorzowski, to discuss past and future cooperation in Gorzow.

By October 15, 2024, companies can apply for the marketing award in the categories of direct marketing, food industry and rural and nature tourism. Applications in the first two categories can take part in the competition for the EDEKA Regional Award at the same time.

During the semester break, the University Library has changed its opening hours. From Monday, July 22, to Friday, August 2, the library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From Monday, August 5, to Friday, September 13, the library will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. From Monday, September 16, the regular opening hours will apply again.

In the exhibition, ten people who study and work at the Viadrina have their say. They tell their stories, what moves them, what they wish for, what ideas they have for the future of the Viadrina so that the university is a place where everyone enjoys studying and working.

The Christian Encounter Days – the Central European Church Congress in Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice – took place from June 7 to 9, 2024 under the motto "Nothing can divide us". Two films about these special days provide a retrospective with numerous personal impressions.

Positive response to the call for entries for the village competition in the district of Märkisch-Oderland: a total of five villages applied for this year's district village competition. Until June 28, 2024, municipalities and districts could register to take part in the 12th district competition "Our village has a future". These will be visited and evaluated by the evaluation committee in September 2024.
