
Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH, SMOK, the cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice as well as numerous partners and supporters presented the program highlights of the cultural summer in the twin city at a joint press conference - including the highlights of the city festival in Słubice and the 20th anniversary of the Hanseatic City Festival "Bunter Hering".
For the fourth time already, Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice are hosting a diverse summer of culture from June 27 to August 30, 2025. Events in a wide variety of formats will take place in both cities on almost every weekend - from concerts, family festivals and sporting events to performances and open-air cinema. The twin city offers residents and visitors the opportunity to rediscover new and familiar places from a cultural perspective.
Highlights of the cultural summer
The cultural summer kicks off on June 27 with the Preto Jazz Festival at the PRETO winery near Słubice. Lovers of sophisticated music can look forward to delicate sounds and exciting talents.
On June 28, an evening of cultural encounters will follow on the Słubice Oder Promenade, opposite the SMOK. From 18:00, the performance "The four sides of the world"and the cross-border percussion happening "Rhythms without borders"will provide a special experience. At the same time, the SoSir site in Słubice will be transformed into an open-air clubwith the "West Spot" area and the DJ collective West Noise.
The HanseStadtFest "Miejskie Święto Hanzy"begins on July 4 in Słubice. A varied music program awaits the audience at the start: the rap duo Dwa Sławy will delight with their witty words and modern sound, followed by the rock icon Agnieszka Chylińska. Afterwards, KIZO will shake the stage with energetic rap, before GOZX rounds off the evening with its unique mix of pop and electro.
On Saturday, 5 July, a colourful family program continues during the day: attractions for children, a funfair and numerous food trucks invite you to linger. In the evening, the duo SMOLIK // Kev FOX will provide special sound moments with their mix of electronic music, atmospheric rock and distinctive vocals. This is followed by Mery Spolsky, who wowed the audience with her powerful performance of pop, electro and strong messages. The musical finale will be provided by Zalewski, who combines rocking energy with profound lyrics to create a rousing live experience.
From July 6 to 10, Plac Bohaterów in Słubice will be transformed into a summer open-air cinema for the whole family. Popular films are shown daily in a relaxed atmosphere - including highlights such as "Dune: Part Two" and "Barbie".
On July 9, everything in the twin city revolves around sport. Under the motto "3, 2, 1... Start!" there will be plenty of action in Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice. Starting in the afternoon, the international Tour of the Oder will take place - an exciting time trial with elite riders from various countries that will pass through both districts. Immediately afterwards, it's "Run without borders": residents and friends from both cities take on the course together, either over five or ten kilometers. At the end, the winners will be honored in a ceremony. Registrations are still possible.
Also on July 9, St. Mary's Church will once again open its doors for the popular cityYOGA - a special experience for body and mind. In the impressive setting of the church, people of all ages come together to stretch, breathe and calm down. The calm, sacred atmosphere creates a unique setting for mindfulness, relaxation and inner balance.
On July 10 at 10:00, the Wishing Tree Avenuewill be opened. Year after year, creative hands from kindergartens, clubs, after-school clubs and leisure facilities decorate the lime trees along Bischofstraße with children's wishes that each of us can fulfill.
On the same evening, at 22:00, a very special highlight awaits music lovers: the festive concert "Fenster im Licht". The choir of the Singakademie Frankfurt (Oder) and the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt under the direction of Rudolf Tiersch invite you to an atmospheric concert evening. The program includes Franz Schubert's joyful Mass No. 2 in G major, complemented by expressive a cappella works presented by the large choir with impressive sonority.
On 11. On July 11, the Bunte Hering in Frankfurt (Oder) will once again host the Training Dating on the Ferris Wheel. Right in front of the Ferris wheel, interested parties have the opportunity to talk to training companies from various regional sectors in a relaxed atmosphere - and enjoy an informative ride together at lofty heights.
At 18:00, the HanseStadtFest "Bunter Hering" will be ceremoniously openedwith cake and the tapping of a draught beer. This is the 20th edition of the traditional town festival, which has constantly evolved and changed over the years.
As usual, visitors can expect a wide range of activities for all age groups. From the cheerful Kinder-SpaßIsland, which turns into a lively rock music stage in the evening, to the colorful Hüftgold-Allee and the new Pure Island electro area at the Ärztehaus - there is plenty to discover and experience.
A very special highlight is the new Hansemarkt area at the northern Holzmarkt. Here, guests can immerse themselves in the fascinating history of the Hanseatic League and look forward to traditional surprises

Musically, Julia Meladin opens the evening on the main stage. The young artist delights with a unique mix of pop punk, pop rock and soulful ballads. Afterwards, Feel, the Polish headliners, shake the stage with their rousing pop-rock sound - they have been one of the most sought-after live acts in Poland for almost 20 years. The crowning glory of the evening will be Karakum with melodic guitar sounds, driving bass lines, synthesizers and drums - handmade live techno in a class of its own.
On Saturday, July 12, the festival begins in the morning and invites you to discover and enjoy. In the evening, the up-and-coming artist Dueja will provide a fresh electropop sound with her confident mix of technoid club vibes, rap influences and modern pop glow, making her one of the most exciting newcomers in Europe.
The main act will follow: the German band Juli. Their timeless pop-rock sound has been providing an electrifying experience for two decades and promises an unforgettable evening.
Afterwards, Bubliczki take over the stage. The up-and-coming brass band from the Polish folk scene presents passionate Balkan klezmer, creating rousing rhythms and a lively atmosphere.
On Sunday, July 13, a special concert will be the focus of the HanseStadtFest "Bunter Hering" in the St. Marien Church. The Brandenburg State Orchestra will present an opera gala under the direction of Azis Sadikovic. Together with talented soloists from the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera, they will bring classical music impressively to life.
The festive finale of the day will be provided by the band Keimzeit, who will bring the 20th anniversary of the HanseStadtFest to a fitting close with their characteristic, warm rock sound. As an established name in the German rock scene, the band has been delighting audiences with authentic music for decades.
From July 18 to 19, the DJ Festival Novum will once again take place in Słubice. The event offers a diverse electronic line-up and invites visitors to dance and party.
From August 3, classical music will fill the parks of the twin city on five weekends. The summer open-air festival "Klassik ohne Grenzen" will feature a total of eight concerts with artists from many European countries. The crowning finale will be a large symphonic concert on August 30 on Frankfurt's Anger.

Admission to all events of the Kultursommer is free. In addition, Stadtverkehrsgesellschaft mbH Frankfurt (Oder) supports the HanseStadtFest "Bunter Hering" with free use of the inner-city streetcar and bus lines. This means that guests can reach the festival grounds conveniently and reliably throughout the entire duration of the event.
