This winter, the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)/Słubice will once again be transformed into a place of encounter and pre-Christmas community: the Living Advent Calendar is entering a new round. From December 1 to 24, associations, initiatives, stores and institutions will be organizing small, atmospheric events every day – bilingual, open and free of charge.
We are looking for creative hosts who would like to fill a little door with life - with music, craft activities, readings or other ideas around the theme of Christmas. The aim is to make the diversity of the German-Polish neighborhood and traditions visible.
Idea? Then apply now!
Any interested parties can submit their proposals until Tuesday, 14 October 2025 via the digital application form.
After the application deadline, the organization team will review all submissions received and put together a programme of events for the Advent season.
Language support? No problem!
Bilingual design is part of the project. The organization team supports the implementation in German and Polish.
Who is behind the project
The Living Advent Calendar is supported by a German-Polish network. It includes Messe und Veranstaltungs GmbH, Słubicki Miejski Ośrodek Kultury SMOK, the city councils of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice and Wohnungswirtschaft Frankfurt (Oder) GmbH. The network provides organizational support for the participants and assists with public relations work.
The project "Christmas in the twin city – cityWeihnacht and Living Advent Calendar Frankfurt (Oder)/Słubice" is funded by the small project fund of the PRO EUROPA VIADRINA Euroregion as part of the INTERREG VI A Brandenburg-Poland 2021–2027 cooperation programme.
