"Just do it" – Enabling culture conference & festival

Format and location development, village and regional development with creative means are an original part of what makes the region attractive and worth living in. In the federal funding program "Faktor K – Forschung zum Faktor Kultur in ländlichen Räumen", the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the weissensee kunsthochschule berlin are investigating the diverse structures, conditions and effects of artists and cultural workers and their networks in eastern Brandenburg. The question of social participation plays an important role as a driver for changes in the region that are geared towards the common good.

• What potential do art, culture and architecture offer for village and regional development?
• What scope for facilitation is there?
• Who gives whom the mandate to act here?
• What can an enabling culture look like at the official-institutional level?
• What cultural-political course is needed?

12.00 p.m. – Arrival (Burghof) 
Welcome and workshop presentation of the BTU Summer School

12.30 p.m./2.30 p.m./4.30 p.m. – Thematic tables (Altes Amt)
Open exchange with participants from administration, science, regional planning and culture
I Cultural regional development or regional cultural development
II Collective building projects with local people and experts from outside
III Enabling culture in politics, administration and networks

1.00 p.m.–5.00 p.m. – Market of Opportunities (Burghof & Burghofbühne) 
Enablers from the region present their projects (with Kulturland Brandenburg, Neue Auftraggeber, Demokratie.leben! Stadtentdecker, Netzwerk Zukunftsorte, 
Campus Kultur - Burg Beeskow, DOK15518 and many more)

From 6.00 p.m. – relaxed finale 
with music to listen to, dancing and a long table
