The city of Słubice is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Polish city of Słubice on Wednesday, September 17 and Saturday, September 20, 2025 under the motto "History connects us" and invites the citizens of the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)/Słubice to attend.
A statement from the Słubice city administration reads: "We want to commemorate the moment when new life began on the Polish side of the Oder 80 years ago after the end of the Second World War. We want to use contemporary witnesses and historical documents to tell the story of our city, in which relations with neighboring Frankfurt (Oder) play a special role."
The city of Frankfurt (Oder) will be represented by the head of the Frankfurt-Słubice Cooperation Center Sören Bollmann on 17 September and by Mayor Claus Junghanns on 20 September.
