On 2 July 2026 in Bernau, the East Brandenburg Chambers of Commerce and the ‘Netzwerk Zukunft’ network honoured 19 businesses, companies and organisations that are actively involved in careers guidance and had been nominated by schools.
These entrepreneurs are particularly committed to providing career and higher education guidance in their home regions. They offer school work experience placements or company tours and present their apprenticeship programmes at secondary schools and grammar schools. Together with teachers, the organisations are committed to providing practical career and higher education guidance locally.
“The path to vocational training is best achieved through work experience placements and active participation in various events, such as careers fairs and apprenticeship exhibitions held in school playgrounds,” emphasises Wolf-Harald Krüger, President of the Frankfurt Chamber of Skilled Trades (Or) – East Brandenburg region. “The stable figures for apprenticeship contracts concluded in recent years prove that good, practical career guidance can also help to keep young people in our home region.” There are numerous and varied apprenticeship opportunities in East Brandenburg.
“The companies honoured today open doors, provide insights and take time for young people. That is precisely what makes the difference in the end. Career guidance is not an extra, but a foundation. And it works best when schools and the business community work together,” says Hans Peter Thierfeld, Vice-President of the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Schools and companies are actively contributing to the skilled workforce of tomorrow and the continued success of East Brandenburg as a business location.
Since 2007, schools have been nominating companies for the award. From these nominations, the best are selected by a jury comprising representatives from the Employment Agency, the Frankfurt (Oder) – East Brandenburg Region, the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Brandenburg State Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and the ‘Zukunft. Schule und Wirtschaft für Brandenburg e.V.’ network.
