Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly becoming the target of cyber attacks. These often lead to immense damage and weaken the company's reputation. Data from customers and cooperation partners as well as other sensitive data is often tapped, changed, deleted, encrypted and/or published on incriminated websites. Criminals repeatedly use the stolen data for further hacker attacks and other crimes.

SMEs are usually not targeted as victims, but are hit by large-scale and automated attacks. It is therefore high time to bring information and cyber security up to date and to regularly sensitize employees when using information technology (IT) with regard to the common scams used by hackers.

A cyber attack on the company Leymann Baustoffe has prompted the Mittelstandsverein Storkow e. V. (Storkow SME Association) in cooperation with the town of Storkow.V. in cooperation with the town of Storkow (Mark)/Regional Management @see to hold a business forum on the topic of "Understanding cyber risks – rethinking data security in companies" and invites interested entrepreneurs to attend on October 8, 2025 at Storkow Castle.
