What potential for future transformations can be derived from the history of the GDR and the People's Republic of Poland? This question will be the focus of a discussion on Wednesday, March 20, hosted by the research network "Mod-Block-DDR" together with Carsten Schneider, Minister of State and Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Europe.

The event begins at 5 p.m. at the Representation of the State of Brandenburg to the Federal Government, In den Ministergärten 3, 10117 Berlin, Kurfürstensaal. Under the title "Surprising Findings on Modernization in the GDR and the People's Republic of Poland: Potentials for Future Transformations", researchers from the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will present their latest publications as part of the joint project. Afterwards, they will discuss their findings and their relevance for current developments with Carsten Schneider, Commissioner for Eastern Europe, Prof. Dr. André Steiner (Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History) and the audience.
