EU election campaign in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)-Słubice
The next European elections will take place on June 9, 2024. The European Parliament, which decides on important issues for the member states of Europe, will be newly elected on this day. For the first time, EU citizens who have reached the age of 16 are eligible to vote.
The Frankfurt-Słubice Cooperation Center of the City of Frankfurt (Oder), the Brandenburg State Museum of Modern Art (BLMK) and EUROPE DIRECT Frankfurt (Oder) are jointly taking the European elections as an opportunity to invite young people from Germany and Poland to an EU election poster workshop and competition followed by a poster show. The focus is on a call for voter participation in order to make use of the right to political co-determination, not party-political advertising.
During the workshop, participants will receive tips on how to design a poster as well as information on the European elections themselves. Afterwards, a jury will select the three best poster designs, which will then be reproduced and displayed in the twin city. All poster designs will also be made available to the public in a poster show.
The workshop is aimed at young people (16+) and young adults.
