Unithea wants passion – Viadrina students organize theater festival for the 25th time

The Unithea theater festival will celebrate its 25th edition in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder) – Słubice on 13 and 14 June 2025. Following the positive response to the diverse performances this year, a team of students and employees of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is currently working on the preparations for next year's anniversary edition. The focus is on the theme of "Passion". The application phase for artists is underway.
 

"After a longer festival break, our fire was rekindled this year by the great productions and the enthusiasm of the audience. We are picking up on this energy and making passion the theme of Unithea 2025", says Maria Ullrich, one of the festival's team leaders. "There is so much to be passionate about and excited about in this world right now. We want to explore the different facets of this powerful emotion together", says Maria Ullrich.

Artists and collectives who want to bring their passionate pieces and performances to the stages and streets of the twin city as part of Unithea 2025 can apply until January 6. A fee will be paid for selected productions and projects. Travel costs are
covered, accommodation and meals are provided.

The festival takes place in cooperation with the Kleist Forum, among others, and is financially supported with local funding.
