The Polish government is planning seven international conferences on the future of Europe as part of its Council Presidency in the first half of 2025. The Ministry for Regional Policy and EU Funds had also invited the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder)-Słubice to the first conference in Kraków, which was opened by the President of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia on January 30 in front of more than 400 participants, as a positive example of the use of subsidies from the EU Cohesion Fund.

The Deputy Mayor of Słubice, Tomasz Stefański, and the Head of the Frankfurt-Słubice Cooperation Center, Sören Bollmann, presented a number of successful projects from the past ten years as well as future projects in the panel "Think Europe, do Interreg!" on 31 January. They underlined the importance that the Interreg programs have had and will continue to have for the implementation of the European integration process, especially in the border regions.

Tomasz Stefański: "We are now establishing a European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) and are jointly planning mobility and transport and the design of a cross-border twin city on the waterfront in order to invest in the modern and sustainable development of our twin city in the years to come. We will continue to need the support of the European Union for this in the future."
