On the occasion of International Tour Guide Day, the German-Polish Tourist Information invites you to a public city tour through the center of Frankfurt on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The meeting point is at 11:00 a.m. at the town hall.

Under the title "With open eyes in the center of Frankfurt", tour guide Dr. Martin Schieck will guide participants around the town hall and St. Mary's Church. The tour focuses on both the historical development of the city and its current appearance.

The consequences of the destruction of the Second World War are still visible in the city center, which means that the original structure of the once densely built-up old town is not immediately apparent. On closer inspection, however, numerous traces and architectural structures can be discovered that tell the story of the historic city. The tour also draws attention to details that often go unnoticed in everyday life and opens up new perspectives on familiar places.

The event is taking place as part of International Tourist Guide Day (ITGD), which has been celebrated worldwide since 1990 and recognizes the importance of qualified guided tours in conveying history, culture and regional identity.
