On 10 September 2026, the Brandenburg Digital Day meets Wildau Administration Day will take place for the first time at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (TH Wildau). Under the motto ‘Thinking Digitally Together’, the Brandenburg Digital Day and the Wildau Administration Day are joining forces to create a joint flagship event for local and state authorities in Brandenburg.
“Direct exchange, expert insights and plenty of like-minded colleagues. That’s what the Brandenburg Digital Day stands for, this year in combination with the Wildau Administration Day,” says Dr Benjamin Grimm, Minister of Justice and for Digitalisation for the State of Brandenburg. “I look forward to discussing with you the most pressing issues for a modern and efficient state. Do come along on 10 September and help shape the digital future of Brandenburg!”
The university president also emphasises the importance of the event for TH Wildau. “As a university of applied sciences, it is our aim to put scientific findings to the best possible use in the service of modern public administration. We are delighted to be hosting both Brandenburg Digital Day and the Wildau Administration Day here at our university and to provide impetus for the future of the entire region,” says Prof. Dr Ulrike Tippe, President of TH Wildau.
Those from local and state authorities are in for a comprehensive and exciting programme that brings together solutions from academics and practitioners. The formats range from keynote speeches and case studies to interactive workshops in which concrete solutions are further developed collaboratively.
Programme highlights
The programme addresses key future topics in the digitalisation of public administration, including:
- Cyber security and information security in local authorities
- Digital sovereignty and future-proof IT structures
- Modern administrative processes and digital citizen services
- Artificial intelligence in public administration
- Modernisation of the state and cross-level administrative cooperation
- Smart regions and local innovation projects
- Reuse of tried-and-tested digital solutions
The programme is complemented by a ‘Market of Opportunities’, where local authorities in Brandenburg will present practical examples and case studies. Local authorities are invited to present their own digitalisation projects: proposals can be submitted by email to kontakt@brandenburger-digitaltag.de by 4 August 2026.
The Wildau Public Administration Day:
Academic expertise for public administration practice
The Wildau Public Administration Day brings together academic expertise from disciplines such as public business administration, public administration and law, as well as public administration and business informatics. Once a year, academics meet with representatives from Brandenburg’s local and state administrations in Wildau to share knowledge and network.
This expertise is also showcased in the ‘Hands-on Digitalisation’ format: with AI Mobil, Science Box, Makerspace and Lagerlabor, TH Wildau brings its own experimental and demonstration formats directly to the campus, enabling administrative staff to experience digital technologies in a practical way.
“In this way, we can apply our theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts at the local level, test its practical feasibility and further develop it. As a university of applied sciences, we see ourselves as a partner to Brandenburg’s public authorities in the field of digitalisation,” says Prof. Dr Isabell Peters, who initiated and designed the event in collaboration with DigitalAgentur Brandenburg and the Action Alliance.
The fact that this year’s joint event is being hosted at TH Wildau underlines the university’s role as a driving force behind the digitalisation of public administration in the region.

State-wide platform for digital innovation
Brandenburg Digital Day is the State of Brandenburg’s central platform for digital innovation and modern public administration. Supported by a broad alliance of public and private stakeholders and in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Digitalisation, it brings together representatives from public administration, business, academia, education and civil society to work together on a sustainable digital infrastructure and administrative culture.
