IHK Ostbrandenburg presents TESLA with EMAS certificate as proof of highest ecological exemplarity
Tesla Manufacturing Brandenburg SE received its EMAS certification certificate on September 1. EMAS is a voluntary environmental management system of the European Union with the highest standards. By introducing this management system, Tesla is underlining its commitment to using resources sustainably and implementing environmental protection transparently and credibly.
Including Tesla, a total of 46 organizations (companies and institutions) in the state of Brandenburg are now EMAS-certified. This is a clear signal of the innovative strength of the East Brandenburg economy.
"In just twelve months, Tesla employees have successfully introduced the EMAS system, which was confirmed by the independent auditors in June 2025 – an impressive achievement that deserves real recognition," says Monique Zweig, Managing Director of the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce. "This message is not only directed at the dedicated Tesla team, but also at the entire regional economy: what has been achieved here can also be achieved by other companies and organizations in East Brandenburg. As the Chamber of Industry and Commerce registration office for East and South Brandenburg, we are accompanying this path with our full support. Together, we are making our region visible on the European EMAS map."
Hanka Mittelstädt, Minister for Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg, explains: "With the decision to introduce the European environmental management system EMAS, Tesla is taking a major step towards continuously improving its environmental performance and reporting on it in a transparent and credible manner. This is also a positive signal for strengthening Brandenburg as an automotive location."
EMAS enables companies and organizations to have their environmental performance regularly audited by independent environmental auditors and to make the results available to the public. The IHK Ostbrandenburg acts as the official registrar for East and South Brandenburg and supports interested companies with the introduction.
