On Monday, September 2, 2024, Mayor René Wilke welcomed 17 young men and women who will be starting their apprenticeships or dual studies at the city administration of Frankfurt (Oder) with immediate effect or from October.

This year, apprenticeships were offered as an administrative assistant, emergency paramedic, surveying technician and specialist for swimming pool operations. In addition, students on the "Public Administration Brandenburg", "Administrative Informatics", "Civil Engineering" and "Surveying and Geoinformatics" courses will also be supported.

The trainees and students will complete the practical part of their training or studies in the specialist offices of the municipal administration or in the rescue station and at Frankfurt (Oder) Hospital.

During the event, the trainees and students were introduced to the responsibilities and processes of the administration by Mayor René Wilke, the staff council representatives, the training officers, the equal opportunities, disability and inclusion officers and the youth and trainee representatives. A trainee team day is also part of the induction week.

A total of 50 young people are currently undergoing training or studying at Frankfurt (Oder) City Council.
