The turbulent slapstick comedy "Der nackte Wahnsinn" can be seen on November 22 and 23 at the Kleist Forum in Frankfurt (Oder). The ensemble from Potsdam's Hans Otto Theater tells the story of an endearingly ridiculous theater group whose members completely destroy themselves and the stage during rehearsals and the performance of a silly play. The result is artistic failure at its finest.
The audience first witnesses a chaotic dress rehearsal. The next evening is supposed to be the premiere, but the ensemble is still struggling with its props - as well as nosebleeds, text hang-ups, contact lenses, botched performances, dropped pants and loose door handles. But the real dramas take place behind the scenes, where true dramas of jealousy, relationship escapades and revenge tragedies unfold.
A play about the insanity of theater and life and about the fact that it must always go on. Because: The show must go on!
"Exuberance to the point of madness - in Potsdam, they are staging great fun with Michael Frayn's comedy, which requires fine craftsmanship. Everything goes wrong. And it succeeds perfectly. A successful evening after which you catch your breath." (Märkische Allgemeine)
