East Brandenburg Chambers of Commerce and the Netzwerk Zukunft. Schule und Wirtschaft für Brandenburg e.V. honor "companies with outstanding career orientation"

There are entrepreneurs in East Brandenburg who are particularly committed to the region: They offer student internships or company tours and present their training opportunities in secondary schools and grammar schools. Together with teachers, the companies are committed to practical career and study orientation on site.

For this extraordinary commitment, 19 companies are being honored today and 14 schools are being certified with the "School with Outstanding Vocational Orientation" seal.

"Good career guidance is created where schools and companies take on responsibility together. They give young people the opportunity to discover their strengths and develop concrete career prospects. In doing so, they make an important contribution to our region - in a very practical, very concrete way," says Carsten Christ, President of IHK Ostbrandenburg. "Their commitment makes the transition from school to work more successful. Their work has an impact and deserves the highest recognition."

"Vocational orientation is crucial for young people to discover their strengths, find suitable career paths and start their training or studies well prepared - the East Brandenburg skilled crafts sector is already showing how it's done with great commitment," adds Wolf-Harald Krüger, President of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts Frankfurt (Oder) - East Brandenburg Region.

The special thing about this award is that schools have been recommending companies for the award since 2007. From these suggestions, the best are selected by a jury of representatives from the Employment Agency, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts Frankfurt (Oder) - East Brandenburg Region, the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the State of Brandenburg and the Netzwerk Zukunft. Schule und Wirtschaft für Brandenburg e.V.

During the event, 14 schools were also presented with the "School with Outstanding Vocational Orientation" seal. Five schools had applied for certification for the first time. And were successful: Ehm-Welk-Oberschule in Angermünde, Schulcampus Altlandsberg, Grund- und Oberschule "Salvador Allende" Wriezen, Albert-Schweitzer-Oberschule in Beeskow and Carl-Bechstein-Gymnasium in Erkner.
